Privacy Policy

Overview

SonarRoom is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your acoustic measurements, room data, and personal information stay on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell your data.

Data Collection

SonarRoom does not collect any personal data. Specifically:

• No account or registration is required
• No analytics or tracking SDKs are included
• No advertising frameworks are used
• No data is transmitted to our servers or any third party

Data Stored on Your Device

SonarRoom stores the following data locally on your device:

• Room geometry — AR-scanned or manually entered room dimensions and layout
• Speaker configurations — positions and channel assignments for your speakers
• Measurement data — acoustic measurements including frequency responses, impulse responses, and spatial coordinates
• Analysis results — computed metrics, heatmaps, and recommendations
• Device mic profile — correction curve for your phone model's microphone

All data is stored using SwiftData in the app's private container and in the app's Documents directory. This data is included in your iCloud and iTunes backups if you have those enabled.

Permissions

SonarRoom requests the following system permissions:

• Microphone — Required to capture audio for acoustic measurement. Audio is processed locally and never leaves your device.
• Camera / ARKit — Required for AR room scanning and position tracking during measurement walks. Camera imagery is processed locally by ARKit and is not stored or transmitted.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Without microphone access, measurements cannot be performed. Without camera access, you can still use the manual room editor and point-by-point measurement mode.

Data Sharing

SonarRoom includes an export feature that lets you share measurement results as PDF reports or EQ correction files. This sharing is initiated only by you, and data is shared through the standard iOS share sheet to destinations you choose.

We do not have access to any data you choose to share.

Third-Party Services

SonarRoom does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The app functions entirely offline after download.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Delete individual rooms and measurement sessions from within the app
• Uninstalling the app removes all SonarRoom data from your device
• No server-side data exists to delete

Children's Privacy

SonarRoom is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app collects no data at all, no special provisions are necessary.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through an in-app notice.
